Decorative sculpture by Giovanni Shoeman
Framed size 13 1/2" high by 10 1/2" wide
This is a lovely multi metal image of a beautiful young woman mounted on an Arts & Crafts frame with a fabric background. She is called "Blossom" by her creator, the late Giovanni Shoeman of Santa Barbara.
Blossom is made with brass, copper and pewter and the figural stands 7 1/2" high by 4" wide and 3" deep. Shoeman was born in South Africa, trained in art in London and migrated to the United States to find fame in Santa Barbara, California where he was a street vendor, gallery artist and a celebrity death.
This statue is the last of a personal collection of his work that I have owned. She came to me in 1974. I framed her in the 1980's. The condition of all of the components are excellent. The piece is signed on the side of the figural as pictured but not dated.
